This policy describes what StudyScout collects and why. We keep it accurate to the technology actually used — we do not claim cookies or analytics that do not exist.

What this site collects

This website is a static site. It does not set tracking cookies, does not run third-party analytics, and does not use advertising networks. Browsing the directory requires no account and no personal data.

Forms

When you submit a study community, report a listing, or contact us, the information you enter is transmitted to Netlify Forms (our hosting provider) and stored in its submissions inbox. This may include your email address (when provided) and the message content. We use this only to process your request.

• Admin contact details from submissions are never published.
• Reporter details from reports are never published.
• We do not place emails into the public dataset.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard server logs (IP addresses, request paths, user agents) for security and operations. These logs are governed by Netlify's privacy practices, not ours.

Automated discovery and link checks

Scheduled workflows (running on GitHub Actions) refresh automated link checks and publish dataset updates through the repository. Our discovery pipeline works only with publicly available information and stores only public URLs and metadata. It does not collect private messages, member profiles or hidden data. AI assistance (Gemini) is used to generate search queries and classify candidate pages from public sources; the queries and public page content may be sent to the AI provider for processing, but no personal data about you is involved.

Your choices

You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you submitted through our forms. Email addresses stored in form submissions are retained only as long as needed to process the request.

Changes

If the technology behind this site changes (for example, if analytics or advertising are added), this policy will be updated to reflect it.
